Homeschool Biology - Homeschool Science Resources

There has never been a better time to choose to homeschool your child. There is plethora of materials to choose from, and thanks to the internet, they are immediately available and many of them are free as well. A good place to start is at the planning stage. This doesn’t need to be complex.

Will you be teaching general science or a specific course such as biology, geology, chemistry, etc. Now you can gather materials accordingly.
What type of budget do you have to work with? If you plan on using completely free resources combined with library books, this option takes a bit more planning, so it is good to plan ahead and write it out.
Once you have decided your budget, start thinking about the teaching methods you are going to use, for example, nature study, a cd-rom course, an on-line class, a traditional text book, like Apologia, or a more hands-on experiment focused course of study. Of course, you can use a mixture of these methods as well.

Home Training Tools: They carry most of the well-known publisher (Apologia, Bob Jones, Alpha Omega) and have a HUGE supply of scientific equipment. If you need flasks, burners, chemicals, preserved animals to dissect, etcetera, this is a great resource. The also provide many free dissection guides as well.

Noeo Homeschool Science: They provide their own line of curriculum kits. The separate components of the kits are availabe for purchase as well. The teacher’s guideincludes a full 36-week schedule of reading assignments, experiments and activities. The kits typically include 6-10 books, two or three of which focus on famous scientists, and a Young Scientist’s Club experiment kit that includes experiment instructions and all of the hard-to-find supplies needed. These are really neat!
